Thai Luxury Roof Design
Luxury Thai shingles can create a striking appearance that captures the height of exoticism. At Custom Shingles, we were honored to create and install a Thai roof design at one of the world’s most luxurious and exotic locations. We poured time and effort, thought and preparation into creating a Bali roof design that would lead to a truly spectacular result. We worked closely with the property’s owner as well as a design firm to use Thai-style shingles to create the perfect exotic roof.
In pursuit of this spectacular result, we custom cut Thai-style shingles in graduated sizes using a Dragon’s Tooth pattern. Each shingle was milled from durable Teak hardwood. We used steam-bending techniques to form each shingle to perfectly cover the contemporary radius roof contours.
The same care and attention to detail we put into this Thai roof design are available to homeowners and property owners who want this same Thailand luxury roof at their homes or resorts. Contact us today to learn more about your design options or to request a quote.
Steam-bending is a precise art form, one that few today have mastered. At Custom Shingles, we do whatever it takes to ensure steam-bending is completed to perfection. For this Thailand luxury roof project, we worked in a strict timeframe to bend each shingle onsite using our mobile steam-bending unit. Our steam-bending efforts are always undertaken with the utmost in care, and we also steam-bend wood shingles in a manner that maintains the integrity and durability of the material.
Old Meets New
Exotic hardwoods harvested worldwide can be used to create ageless architectural designs anywhere around the world. Teak is one of these exotic hardwoods. It is time-tested for durability and would be considered a lifetime product — one that will outperform the rest of the structure on which it is installed. Teak has been used for centuries in the construction of boats because of its resistance to moisture and rot, making it superior to perhaps any other wood in the world.
Teak is also known for its low shrinkage ratio, which makes it ideal for exotic locations where shifts in temperature are experienced. For these reasons and many more, Teak is the best material for a shingle roof in Thailand and other exotic destinations.
It offers high silica content and tight grain that creates longevity and fire resistance, not to mention a luxurious and exotic beauty that can’t be matched. When you want the durability and beauty of a Thai roof design that incorporates Teak, you need a service provider that has experience and knowledge in working with this material — an experienced provider like Custom Shingles.
